If you're an author, publisher, or publicist, I'd be happy to review your book. Simply email me your request at katieshands87@yahoo.com. I gladly accept books for review in a wide range of genres (see below) and post my reviews in a timely manner. However, for the sake of time, I am selective in the books I chose to review. I will attempt to read books that don't necessarily appeal to me, because I realize that my personal tastes are not all that matters. If I simply cannot engage in the book and feel my personal preferences would interfere with a fair review, I exercise my right to withhold publishing a review.
My reviews are usually 300-400 words and include the book cover, a summary, my opinion, and a link to a relevant website. I use a one to five stars rating system (five stars being the best), which I display at the beginning of each post. On a final note, my reviews may not always be positive, but they will be honest.
Preferred genres: Romance, Mysteries, Thrillers, Children's Books, Horror, Historical Literature, Biographies, Religion, Self-Help, Memoirs, True Crime
*I'm also open to participating in blog tours, giveaways, guest posts, and author interviews.
Genres I do not review: Fantasy, Erotica, Science Fiction, Military Action or Adventure
*No matter what genre, I do not review any books containing explicit sex scenes or overly gruesome content.
Accepted formats: RCs, ARCs, audio books (Please be assured that your ARCs are safe with me)
Time frame: Books are typically reviewed in the order received. For ARCs with a scheduled release date, I will try to publish the review on or close to that date. I require a minimum of two weeks notice. Regarding RCs, I will review them within two to five months. If this is an issue for you, feel free to send me an email, and I could possibly make an exception. If you've requested that the post be part of an online book tour, I will make sure to publish my review by the desired date.
Cross posting: I occasionally will post a review on Amazon.com or BarnesandNoble.com. If I plan to do so, I will let you know in advance. You have the right to veto my request. If you have a particular preference regarding where I post, please let me know.
